Enterprise software vendor Mapics, which specialises in the mid manufacturing market, has added National Language Support (NLS) and SQL Server support to its ERP for iSeries (the original flagship Mapics XA AS/400 offering).

The addition of NLS for French, German and Spanish enables users to extend the use of the supply chain management SCM modules – with messages, codes, reports and documentation all generated in native language. Mapics says it will extend the solution to Japanese with a double-byte enabled version this spring. The firm has also broadened its database options for the supply chain management solution by adding SQL Server support: users can now choose between Oracle and Microsoft. “By adding NLS and SQL Server support, we help our global customers streamline the implementation process and enhance their ability to collaborate across the enterprise by tailoring the solution to their specific market,” says Mike Dolan, vice president and general manager, international operations for Mapics. Mapics’ software features constraints-based planning technology aimed at mid market manfuacturers to optimise asset utilisation across multiple plants and increase throughput and profitability, with real time collaborative tools to exchange planning information with suppliers and customers.
