Electrolux after-sales service firm Professional Kitchen Service (PKS) has gone for the web-hosted version of Infor’s ERP System21 (formerly Geac/JBA) to improve operations around finance, invoice processing and the company’s call centre. The company says it has been experiencing rapid growth and needed an ERP solution able to scale and manage its increased volumes and also to improve cash flow. “Infor was able to work with us to develop a hosted solution that will allow us to grow our IT infrastructure economically,” says Jill Port, PKS finance director. “Through using Infor to host the service, we are able to concentrate on our core business and leave the management of the system to the experts.” She says that in addition to the operational and competitive advantages Infor ERP System21 brings to PKS, with the hosted solution, operating costs are reduced. For example, Infor will now provide daily and monthly backups, disaster recovery, latest system releases and updates for Infor ERP System21, loading of IBM OS/400 patches and new releases, as well as general daily system support for end users. Following this implementation, PKS is next set to install Infor Service Management in six months’ time. The solution is hosted on an iSeries Express 520-7142 server and will be located at Infor’s Manchester support centre.
