Arco has signed a deal with AEG Europe to become safety equipment supplier of the Up at The O2 experience, which allows visitors to climb the roof of London's iconic dome.

Arco, leading supplier of manufacturing safety equipment, will supply kit including footwear, climb suits and harnesses.

The Up at The O2 attraction takes visitors on a guided expedition across the roof of the O2 via a tensile fabric walkway suspended 53m above ground level.

The deal will also see Arco provide safety equipment to the rest of the O2, a major music and entertainment venue.

Arco's dedicated team of highly qualified experts will provide practical advice, guidance, safety products and training services that will enable them to carry out their jobs safely.

Thomas Martin, Arco's joint managing director said: "AEG's mission is to 'give the world reason to cheer' and our reason for being is in helping people stay safe so that they can live life to the full and go home to their families at the end of the day. Our two company missions come together perfectly at Up at The O2."

The Up at the O2 experiences sees climbers make their way along a 190m walkway to a central observation platform for views of the London skyline.

The climb takes on gradients of 30% with visitors clipped onto the walkway via a harness to ensure their safety.
