Several top manufacturers will share their insights, experience and vision at the Enterprise Excellence Conference in the Mere Golf Resort and Spa, west of Manchester, between 30 September and 3 October 2014.

The conference, staged by The Manufacturing Institute (TMI), will feature an award-winning line-up of manufacturers from 16 sites in the UK, Ireland and USA. Among the speakers will be the first ever European winners of the Shingo Prize, Abbott Vascular and DePuy along with fellow Shingo winners, Rexam, Leyland Trucks and Lake Region Medical. Other speakers include business leaders from renowned brands: Rolls-Royce, Unilever, Royal Mint, Syngenta, JLR, Unisys, Boston Scientific, Lundbeck, Fairphone, Maersk, Cygnet Group and Chemring. The conference also features manufacturing site visits to Bentley, JLR Powertrain, Leyland Trucks and Newsprinters. Dr Julie Madigan (pictured), chief executive of TMI, said: "This stellar event will celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Manufacturing Institute, which is the UK's longest established charity focused on the manufacturing sector. "We'll be sharing our rich experiences and knowledge from the past two decades, alongside some of those elite businesses which we have supported in reaching the highest standards of global operational and enterprise excellence. Together we will capture the ingredients required for future success in a volatile global economy." The industry line-up is complemented by presentations from business improvement experts and global thought leaders, including Professor Neil Gershenfeld, director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Centre for Bits and Atoms.
