Entries open for forklift operator of the year competition

Entries are open for the RTITB Operator of the Year competition, which tests and rewards excellent driving skills by counterbalance forklift operators.

Stage one of the competition is an online theory and hazard perception test (see web link below). Every entrant will go into a draw for an iPad Mini. Drivers wishing to enter must be registered on the National Operators Registration Scheme (NORS). First stage entries close on 14 February, with the best drivers then invited to compete in heats involving practical and theoretical challenges at the IMHX materials handling exhibition in Birmingham, from 19-22 March. After the heats, the top two operators from each day will go forward to the grand final. First prize is a car, with runners up receiving a luxury holiday and £1,000. The competition is sponsored by Toyota Material Handling UK, TNT Express Services and Calor Gas.
