The latest Microsoft roundtable discussion, hosted in association with Works Management, is to include a free tour of Arla Foods’ flagship Ayslebury Dairy, the parties have announced.

Registrations are now open for the free half-day event on 19 May. It is a chance for site managers to air their views on enabling IT in a factory environment, including the use of smartphones and augmented reality.

It promises to be a lively exchange of ideas, with staff from Works Management and Microsoft facilitating the discussion. As part of the day, all participants will be taken on a guided tour of the local £150m Arla Foods site, which would normally cost around £350 per person. It was recognised as the Best Factory Award for Innovation at the 2015 BFAs.

Alan Causon, engineering manager, Arla Foods, said: “The industry roundtable events provide a great opportunity to share experiences and discuss best practice with delegates from a variety of business sectors. The subjects are future focussed and create thought provoking debates with industry experts providing insight into future developments.”

Commenting on a previous roundtable event, Rob Love, site leader, City Technology, added: “Attending the Works Management roundtables is a real benefit. The topics that are discussed are insightful and challenging and the opportunity to discuss with like-minded, forward thinking individuals and industry experts provides excellent food for thought.”
