Produce World consolidates legacy EDI on Wesupply

Fresh produce supplier Produce World has gone live with Wesupply's OneTime EDI fully-managed service, consolidating electronic trading across five of its group companies.

Produce World head of IT Simon Callow says the organisation had outgrown its previously complex EDI systems. Across the group three were three separate EDI systems, requiring VANs (Value Added Networks) supplied by several third parties, he explains. By merging electronic trading across the group's businesses, through the Wesupply platform, he has simplified the infrastructure for real-time exchange of customers' business documents, while also reducing overheads for local support and cutting the total cost of ownership. "Outsourcing to Wesupply has enabled us to consolidate our EDI requirements into one highly stable platform that delivers the 24/7 service reliability that is so essential for our business and our customers," states Callow. The new EDI platform gives Produce World a single view of message traffic across all its group businesses, and also provides a service where each message is analysed for data integrity and compliance, removing risk to the business from poor data input quality.
