Security specialist upgrades centralised server management

Automotive industry security equipment manufacturer Key Safety Systems (KSS) says it has centralised server management, using Aten International’s scaleable Altusen KM0432 Matrix KVM switch, which allows administrators to access servers synchronously.

The company, which supplies VW, Toyota, Fiat, Ford, PSA Peugeot Citroën and General Motors with airbags, seat belts, steering wheels, crash test sensors and integrated safety systems, is using the four-console, 32-port matrix switch at its Raunheim office. “KSS was looking for a reliable, flexible and scalable KVM solution that would allow the three IT administrators to manage the growing IT infrastructure efficiently, which currently shows about 300 computer workstations and 25 servers,” says Thomas Mussnig, managing director of systems integrator BellEquip. “For this, the KM0432 is the optimal solution offering solid technology, transmitting good video quality and all this at an unrivalled price,” he adds. “So far, we never had [sic] any problems with the new switch at KSS. Server management is running smoothly and all administrators are very happy with its performance,” says Patrick Velte, IT manager at distributor Perot Systems.
