Atlas Copco announce three new additions to its range

Improved flow and energy savings form the backbone of the three new additions to Atlas Copco’s range of large screw compressors.

The existing GA160+-315 range has been supplemented with the new GA200VSD, GA250VSD and an upgraded version of the GA315VSD. Atlas Copco have adopted smart design principles in the new products, resulting in improved airflow, measured as free air delivered (FAD). The new products have increased FAD by an average of 20%. This in turn means that operators are now able to choose smaller compressors for the same applications, leading to money and energy savings.

Thanks to variable speed drive technology, the compressors can automatically adjust the motor speed to match the air demand, resulting in further energy savings of 35%. Additionally, the optional energy recovery system is able to recoup as much as 75% of the compressor’s shaft power as hot water, which can be re-used in the premises for heating or process operations.

Every component within the new compressors is easily accessible via large opening doors. Easy installation and maintenance is key: each product is designed as a plug-and-run package that is ready to use from the outset. Also, the integrated Elektronikon Mk5 Graphic Plus controller allows for remote online monitoring, which includes service scheduling. The Elektronikon controller also enables internet-based visualisation via the compressor’s 5.7 inch colour display.
