Specialist Glass Products Ltd (SGP) has delivered on a bespoke requirement at the O2 building in London. The completed glass panels were 12mm toughened Pilkington optiwhite, size: 3200mm x 2900mm, and completed the front entrance to the ‘Mamma Mia! The Party’ diner located at the O2, London.

The grand opening of ‘Mamma Mia! The Party’ took place last month, which saw the Huddersfield-based glass manufacturer commissioned to produce the extra-large panels for the entrance to the diner.

The star-studded opening night launched in London following success in Sweden and saw ABBA band members Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson in attendance.

A project this size would take double the time given to facilitate, but SGP turned it around in just five days. The glass needed to go through an extensive process of cutting, polishing and toughening to deliver the finished glass panels to London from their factory.

Andrew Taylor, Managing Director of SGP, added: “SGP is one of the only companies to produced toughened glass to this size, and we are really pleased that the company chose us and trusted us to fulfil this project for an iconic feature in such a short turnaround.”
