Industry experts to discuss increasing Glenmorangie’s production capacity at Manufacturing Management Conference

David Baglee of the University of Sunderland will discuss how a back-to-basics maintenance approach helped whisky giant Glenmorangie increase production capacity, at the Manufacturing Management Conference at Whittlebury Hall, Northamptonshire on 15-16 June.

He will detail how he tackled a culture of daily firefighting and drew up a dynamic asset care plan in partnership with engineers at Glenmorangie’s Broxburn site. A blend of employee training, condition monitoring techniques and picture-led SOPs for cleaning and inspection of key kit have helped cut downtime by 75% on two major lines at the whisky making plant.

Baglee joins the speaker line-up for the two-day conference, which will encompass the key elements of successful manufacturing management – safety, maintenance and continuous improvement – via three dedicated streams.

Weetabix and Fujifilm Speciality Inks are among the other big names already confirmed for the agenda.

The Manufacturing Management Conference provides delegates with best practice learning, enabling them to deliver successful lean manufacturing programmes.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to put what they have heard into practice with an entertaining workshop programme.

Day two of the conference comprises a factory tour where attendees will see best-practice procedures in action and pick up tips to take away. Confirmed tours include Brita Water Filter Systems, GKN Driveline, Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles and Weetabix.

Book your place before Friday, 20 May to benefit from the early bird rate of £595, which includes conference, dinner and accommodation.
