Tony Walker, deputy MD, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, will discuss the award-winning Toyota Production System (TPS), at the Manufacturing Management Conference at Whittlebury Hall, Northamptonshire on 15-16 June.

Walker of Toyota will deliver the keynote address at the conference, touching upon how TPS and a culture of employee engagement helped the company's Burnaston car plant on its journey to manufacturing excellence.

Walker joins the speaker line-up for the two-day conference, which will encompass the key elements of successful manufacturing management – safety, maintenance and continuous improvement – via three dedicated streams. The keynote address will bring together all three streams for a panoramic look at manufacturing operations.

Weetabix and Fujifilm Speciality Inks are among the other big names already confirmed for the agenda.

The Manufacturing Management Conference provides delegates with best practice learning, enabling them to deliver successful lean manufacturing programmes.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to put what they have heard into practice with an entertaining workshop programme.

Day two of the conference comprises a factory tour where attendees will see best-practice procedures in action and pick up tips to take away. Confirmed tours include Brita Water Filter Systems, GKN Driveline, Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles and Weetabix.
