Simulation specialist Lanner Group, which has been increasingly turning its technology to business process improvement, has announced a £3 million investment deal from NVM Private Equity (NVM).

NVM replaces 3i, which has supported Lanner since the management buyout back in 1996. Says David Jones, CEO of Lanner Group: "The backing from NVM follows an incredible year for Lanner. We have seen excellent business performance in 2009, and 2010 now looks even stronger." He cites "recent expansion into new markets, including China", and claims that the company is going for "aggressive growth and development". In recent years, in addition to its flagship product Witness, Lanner Group has rolled out several new products, such as its police simulation software Prism, with its recent Forensic module addition, Px-SIM for pharmaceutical production modelling and L-SIM, the java simulation engine for integration into third party software products. Lanner now boasts a partner portfolio that includes IBM and IDS Scheer, delivering Lanner technology products to their customers. End users include companies such as Ford, GSK, Sanofi-Aventis, Nissan and British Nuclear Group.
